Audio- sounding off !

Director has included excellent audio support for a long time. You can control audio in Director with a few simple Lingo commands. Audio can range from simple sound effects to full blown CD quality audio files- provided you have the technical capability to pull this off. For extended audio portions of your project, a script must be produced to detail what will be said. The edited scripts are used to plan the who, what, where, when, and how much. Then the recording session is scheduled. The original tape should be the highest quality possible to allow for digitizing and compression. Don't forget about ownership rights and permissions.

Utilizing an audio editing program like those featured below will allow you to digitally enhance or control the audio with an interface if desired. Sound can be captured with a computer microphone or through RCA ports if you have the appropriate hardware. Sound loops can easily be created for background or ambience with a product like Sonic Foundry's ACID.
