I was born next door to a mutton farm near SheepTown Kentucky
T'warn't nobody there but a sky full 'o' air, the mule, my folks and me
Then one day to my dismay I was as bored as I could be
Then my old mule Phred kicked me in the head and it set my braincells free!
There was Sculpture with the scarecrow and concerts in the corn
Stageplays in the storehouse and broadcasts from the barn
Art and life and cauliflower to put on my C.V. when my braincells got set free!

The story you have just read is true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
(If you want metaphysics, try my Fish pages.)

I was really born into a world that was a that time, remote and yet idyllic. I had loving, devoted parents that are not responsible for any dyfunctionality you may witness in these pages. I grew up with books and cartoons, the formative media of my generation. But I also had a simple life. That is something that takes striving for today.

--As Frederick Buechner said, the joy is in the journey...

I was trained as a studio sculptor at university (that means I possess the skills to draw, design, and make things analog style). Then I went to work and had to learn to paint. Then I had to learn to use a computer. Now I use one every day to build new, albeit, emerging, worlds. Those worlds have been influenced by my experiences with the empty canvas of art students eager to develop aesthetic sensibilities, the creation of fine art, 3-D models, large scale multimedia productions utilizing 60+ projectors, laser light shows, special effects, word worlds of poetry, prayers and music. The past fifteen years have seen the creation of over 800 songs, tens of thousands of images and objects. This production has been commercial as well as non commercial. Lately I have had the priviledge to work with designing exhibitions of others' work, primarily great Spanish masters.

--I do not believe there is a separation of sacred and secular.

I therefore define myself (or do the creations define me?) as a creator. I think all people are joint heirs of this quality. Some create chaos and some create order. I am convinced that the definition of these two terms are not as simple as they seem- what you see is not necessarily what you get. I am therefore a proponent of uncommon sense.

--I believe that character and right now counts forever.

Right now I am into exploring/exploiting the one artform I have a chance to become involved in at its early stages- digital multimedia. It seems that all I have been involved in to this point have relevance to this medium. I believe its potential to use human communication as a medium in and of itself will lead to a digital renaissance, if you will. And as we all know every renaissance involves the death of something else... Let's just hope that the tools we appropriate are good ones that we can use to bake bread without leaven.
