Tips from the Web Kitchens of

St. Louis Community College

Just as all kitchens require a complement of appliances and utensils, all classrooms, tradtional or web based, require the support of technology.Using technology that is ill suited to the teaching endeavor can adversely affect learning. In a traditional classroom, the technology required may be quite transparent in nature: lights, desks, chalkboards and overhead projectors all reinforce the traditional teacher centered approach of education.

In any Web based learning environment technological transparency must also be strived for as well! Whether you are cooking up a heaping helping of hot links or more gourmet fare, how does one keep from serving up something too rich for the palate? And how does one identify what constitutes pie in the sky? Let's look at some of the issues as they affect the various components of a web-based classroom!
