A Song For You (For Earnie)
Lie so still I can hear every whispered word
Things I've often heard remind me of dreams I hold dear.
You are the first dream that stays on my mind
Daybreak is a time when you always seems so near.
As flows the river, so flows my love for you
And what I am going through seems to pull me right along
All my emotions all these things I feel Tell me thais
love is real
So I'm writing this song for you.
I can almost see you smiling asd I write these words
I can almost feel you in my heart as the music is heard
And if I listen with peace in my heart and no doubt that
it's true
We will never be apart as I sing this song for you.
I'm going to love when there's no more love but that's
still not enough
Just returning to where I have been
No thought of tomorrow, nor of what I'll do unless it is
with you
Leaves me happy once again.
I can almost see you smiling asd I write these words
I can almost feel you in my heart as the music is heard
And if I listen with peace in my heart and no doubt that
it's true
We will never be apart as I sing this song for you.

This is the first song I wrote for the one God sent to
me- I include it here because God provided the song as well as all else- may He
be forever blessed! He is indeed Yahweh Yireh, providing the answer to the
prayer that He provided first - that He send me His choice for my life partner.
I see in it the commitment to love when the feelings cease- but lo and behold,
they haven't- the fire of romance is sustained and even deepened in intensity
and focus by that commitment- The world won't tell you that little secret! I met Earnie, appropriately enough at
church where I was creating posters for a concert we were putting on locally-
Our youth minister, Kenneth Bailey, who was later to participate in our
marriage ceremony, introduced her to me. Thanks, Ken, wherever you are...
