Answered Prayer

I asked for strength that I might achieve- he made me weak that I might obey

I asked for power to do great things- by His grace I found a better way!

I thought to enjoy life I needed all these things

But I really needed real life so I could enjoy anything!

Lord you gave me a song to sing

You answered every prayer with the joy you bring.

I asked for riches - to be satisfied

He made me poor but made me wise

And humbled me so I'd know my need of Him

When I asked for praise and glory in men's eyes

I thought to enjoy life I needed all these things

But I really needed real life so I could enjoy anything!

Lord you gave me a song to sing

You answered every prayer with the joy you bring.
