Freedom in my tears

I am held fast forevermore, secure in my trials and fears

for there is peace within my pain and freedom in my tears

My heart knows what my tongue can’t say and what my ears can never hear

For there is peace within my pain and freedom in my tears.

His Love can never be denied

His love can never be crucified

Freedom in my tears

You have never seen my Lord, though He’s everywhere

He’s gone beyond our senses and yet He’s very near

My Lord doesn’t remove my trials But gives grace to bear them here

He gives me peace within my pain  And freedom in my tears.

His Love can never be denied

His love can never be crucified

Freedom in my tears

As a young Christian, I began to sense that my understanding of God’s purposes for me was somewhat convoluted- I was extremely performance oriented in the name and sake of excellence, but also in and of myself- which led to valedictory scholarships accompanied by severe migraine headaches. I threw myself into long distance marathons in the track off season  and Bible binging, but my spirit was vexed... I never was taught in childhood to cry in a positive, constructive way, or realized that tears are a gift of release from God.
