When we began we were good friends

Playing the games that friends play Not looking for more than a friend

We were good friends and that did not end- when our love began.

True love comes slow, it never comes fast

Our love continues to grow and I know it’s a love that will last

It’s not enough to just fall in love, we must grow in love.

Oh how long it takes to walk this road of time

You comfort me in passing- so place your hand in mine

Tell me that you’ve seen the stars and say what’s on your mind

Centuries have shown the way the trail of love unwinds

A fragile thing can’t care for itself

Our love would never survive if we put it away on a shelf

The seeds were sown, the feeling has grown, now love is our own.

So let’s dance into the day so that joy might stay awhile.

Let’s find our peace of mind-and let’s share an easy smile

We’ll listen to heartbeats afloat on love’s winds and love even in the day

We’ll drift along on our slow song and know that we’ve found our way
