It Wouldn’t be Right (Without You)

I could start this new day with a shout and a song,

With laughter and joy everyone could sing along

I could strike up a band to pass in review

But it wouldn’t be right without you!

With a million sparklers I could paint the sky

Celebrate with fireworks and banners flying high

I could bring in a chorus and a clown or two

But it wouldn’t be right without you!

Without you I wouldn’t want to face tomorrow

I’d drown in helplessness and all my pain and sorrow

But with my savior here, I face each day without fear

You bring me through the day, through my joy and my tears.

Without you I wouldn’t want to face tomorrow

I’d drown in helplessness and all my pain and sorrow

Lord you give me your life but that’s what you came to do

Lord life wouldn’t be right without you!

No it wouldn’t be right without you!

I wrote this on one of my substitute teaching days while supervising a study hall. I was struggling with a schedule that had me working the graveyard shift, going to classes and on off days subbing to make ends meet. Jesus was going by the wayside.
