Time Was

One day a fine day, a high flying sky day,

sitting and singin on a stump by the highway

Listen to a silence I’ve not often heard,

a grin on my face and I don’t say a word...

Time was my time was not worth a dime

just a day to day thing to be dawdled away- must

Have wasted a lifetime on pieces of dreams-

couldn’t put them together to see what they mean

Time was too slow for those who wait, too swift for those with fear

Time was too short for those with joy, too long for those with tears

when you find love don’t think of time you know you can be sure

That true love lasts eternity- you know love will endure...

Each time I take time to try and make mine

The things that I want most of all then you know I’m

Spending these days finding ways to serve you

Don’t have time to worry what I’m gonna do

Today, a new day an all skies are blue day

This is another typical thinking of you day

With you I am happy I know with you here

I am building a life that will last through the years
