Funeral
How many time you raved and raged against the dying light
Were you puzzled and confused or just too tired to fight?
The soundlessness of silence as the tide is rushing out
Were you weary of the world or just tired of what life's about?
Were you so weary of the things you'd tried
With no one there by your side
And suddenly you realized that life had passed you by
On that day when too many debts were due
You decided that you's had too much of you...
From listening boy to listless man I saw you chafe at change
'Til the weariness of wasted life too deep a draught remained
I recall you told me you would die You were falling out of place
Your heart a nail upon the wall and Nothing to hang on the empty space
Now I'm sitting at the water with you here by my side
And suddenly I realize how truly you did die
On that day you let Jesus pay yhe cost
On the day when he came down from your cross.
