Upon a Rock

 

I waited for the Lord most high and patiently did bear

And then to me He did incline

My voice and cry to hear

He took me from a fearful pit- and from the miry clay

Upon a rock He set my feet establishing my way

 

He set my feet upon a rock so I'll forever stand

He set my feet upon a rock-away from shifting sands

He set my feet upon the rock of ages so I'm safe

While the storm yet rages-

He set my feet upon a rock so I'll forever stand!

 

He put a new song in my mout our God to magnify

Many shall see and hear and fear and on the Lord rely
