Poor in spirit, Pure in Heart- the children understood from the start

That His yoke is easy and His burden light

He turns weakness to strength and helplessness to might!

He had the power to calm the sea

He spoke the words and created the tree

Where he freely gave up his rights

And laid down His life for me!

Poor in Spirit, Pure in Heart

Thos he chose were set apart

The dspised and the outcast he chose to receive

Though he found them abandoned and slow to believe

The smoking flax he did not quench

The bruised reed he did not break

Instead He thirsted on the cross

His body was broken for our sake.

Poor in Spirit, Pure in heart.

He made compassion into an art

for He understood so we'd understand

That power laid down is what His power demands!
