Like a runner near the finish line with every nerve strained
Our effort is comparable- toward the goal we seek to gain
The prize should motivate us-to pres on to victory
A goal worthy of our lives; to grow to maturity!
Press on toward the mark of the upward calling
Why are you stalling?

We know at length we will win!
Like a runner straining to end the race-We must stay on course
For if we take a detour we waste our precious resource
Pressed into the mold of Christ by his resurrection power
We become conformed to Him as we obey hour by hour!
