Teach me a lesson, Lord,

Give me the wisdom to see

The value for eternity

Of the things of day to day

Opportunities that pass my way!

Teach me a lesson,

show me the implications

All the ramifications

Show me the logical end

Of the actions I try to defend...

If I depart from your precepts

I could only grope in blackest night

You are a lamp unto my feet

To my path you are a light
