The worshippers come into the tabernacle

Of the great eternal God of Israel

They could not go inside where their Holy God abides

With His awesome presence hidden by a veil

From the top to the bottom that old temple veil was rent

Just as on the cross, Christ's flesh was rent by nails

He made His glory known-His glory he has shown

No longer hidden from man by a veil!

For man chose separation- when He sinned then it was done!

He could no longer see the glory of the perfect Holy one!

Lord, rend the veil by your own hand

Tear the veil from our hearts, let us understand

Lift the veil from your face so we can feel your embrace

And in your glory we can boldly stand

For with a veil of sin hanging in our hearts

Even as we worship we will fail

To enter totally into the presence Most Holy

we say the words but they're to no avail

Now we can come into His everlasting presence

If he has washed our feet and by His strength we prevail

We can judge our hearts and let God rip out the sin

That we've woven carefully into that veil

For sin will separate us- surely now as it did then

And God will hide his face if we would rather seek our sin

Lord, rend the veil by your own hand

Tear the veil from our hearts, let us understand

Lift the veil from your face so we can feel your embrace

And in your glory we can boldly stand
