The Bread of Angels, Bread of affliction

How many roads can lead you to heaven

When Jesus said that He is the way?

All other paths lead in the wrong direction

toward self and to sin, to death and decay...

But even the straight path of His righteousness

Is full of diversions if we choose to digress

And a detour is rougher than the narrow way

For we only have power to trust and obey

This path is not only mine

For it is the one the Lord designed

God wants us humble so we're tested and tried

When I eat the bread of angels I will be satisfied.

When we show others a life that satisfies

We're prepared for greater responsibilities

For we see God clearly through affliction's eyes

And falsely through the eyes of ease

With eyes of faith we can see the reason

For the tests God sends in his chosen seasons

God surfaces attitudes and proves our faith

He strengthens our walk as we walk in His grace!
