I will glory in the Cross

Between two worlds it stood- a simple cross of handhewn wood.

Crafted as the Father planned, the product of a carpenter's hand!

A tree where God's own flesh was torn by nails and splinters, sword and thorn

He had laid down His perfect glory, now he lays down His life for me!

I will glory in the cross for when Christ died in shame and loss

He established perfect peace- my redemption and release.

I will glory in the cross- where the Lord of Glory paid the cost

And a share in His glory was made available to me!

You gave for me your dying breath- you were obedient unto death

You bowed your head in mortal pain, and then, my God, you rose to reign!

So now faith is the victory that takes me through MY Calvary

When the rock of Refuge broke apart, it opened the way unto God's heart!

There is glory in the cross for when Christ died in shame and loss

He established perfect peace- my redemption and release.

I will glory in the cross- where the Lord of Glory paid the cost

And a share in His glory was made available to me!
