He Became Like Us

The only Begotten Son,

The bright and glorious One

Came to reveal the Father's Love

Came to destroy the power of

The sin that held my heart

And Satan's strongholds tear apart!

He became like us so we could be like Him

in light of all He bore- why should we bear our sin?

For in His torn flesh was oour consolation

The nails that pierced the Holy One

Were our cause for consolation!

He was light agasinst darkness

Came to be our righteousness

For hope came and despair was undone

It was life against death and Jesus won!

The God-Man on the cross-

Sin's substitute paid all the cost!

He became like us so we could be like Him

in light of all He bore- why should we bear our sin?
