Time and again the wisdom of man Creeps in and vies to be heard.

Playing its tricks and trying to mix error with the living word

From the pulpits and pews to the men on the news

Comes a never ending stream

You've been seeking the Truth since the days of your youth

But you don't know at all what it means!

He said "seeking you will find" but not by seeking with your mind

And by knocking the Lord will open the door

But not to places where you've been before!

Woill it wash in his blood or fade in His light?

Hour by hour with all of your power you try to recognize

But so many words are there to be heard So many lies in disguise

Sincere men- try to defend the wisdom that makes them a fool

Is it Lordship or scholarship that you're willing to let rule?

For he is the word and the way- the righteousness of god displayed

You may seek but never recognize the truth til you see with righteous eyes.
