Psalm 51

Have mercy on me, oh God- in love hear my confession

According to your great compassion- blot out my transgressions

Have mercy on me oh Lord in love hear my confession

Wash away my iniquity and from my sin cleanse me

Against you and you alone have I sinned and have I done

What is evil in your sight -You have spoken and you are proven right!

When you judge you are justified!When you judge you are justified!

For surely I was sinful at birth- from the time I was conceived on this earth

You desire truth in the inner parts- you would surely teach wisdom to my heart!

Clean me with hyssop and I will be clean-

Wash me and I will be whiter than snow

Reveal to me what your joy can mean

May the bones you've crushed rejoicing know!

Hide your face from my sin, and blot out my iniquity

lord create a pure heart now within

Renew a steadfasrt Spirit in me!

Do not cast me from your presence, Lord

Or take your Spirit from me

The joy of your salvation to me restore

And grant a willing spirit to sustain me

For a spirit that is broken is a pleasing sacrifice

A broken and a contrite heart the Lord will not despise
