Deeper in the living Love of Jesus

Ever higher let Him lift my soul!

Closer to his presence may time find me

And farther from the sin that seeks control...

Deeper in His grace 'til I am covered

Higher now on Spirit wings to fly.

Closer to His likeness I would be conformed

And farther from the substitutes I've tried

Deeper, Higher, Closer, Farther

Draw me, call me, Loving Father!

Deeper may my roots grow down into Him

Higher grow my thoughts to reach my source

Closer to the vict'ry may the moment find me

Anfd farther to completion of my course...

Deeper into unknown situations,

Higher than the heights the angels know

Closer than a brother I would be to Jesus

And farther than I ever thought I'd go!
