I Need You

We'd have no need of Jesus if men could keep God's law

If living water flowed from earth we'd need no well from which to draw

If peace reigned through the centuries or even for a day

If our desires and hopes were met we'd have no need to pray

But where is the joy and the sanity- the meaning in this life of vanity

Where's the light by which we can see?-There's not a glint of in in you or me!

If love ruled the world or made one heart new

Jesus, you needn't have bothered- we wouldn't need you!

But to whom else shall we go?

Who else has the power to know

The words of life that Jesus knew

Jesus- I need you! - I need you - I need you - I need you!

The world tries to make sense of life, but this world hasn't got a clue!

Of how to deal with life much less death- so Jesus- I need you!
