In Your Name

On your name and for your gain

I may choose to minister in your power

But I can follow my plans and not your commands

So I fail to obey you hour by hour

I miss the point when I annoint

My head with oil that is not yours

What I will fulfill will not be your will

Though sincere and sure, I can be unpure

Will you bless an effort like the sacrifice of Cain?

Lord, Lord, won't you play our game?

In your name and our way are not the same.

For many will honor you whom you will dishonor

Many will own you whom you will disown

Many may minister with spectacular power

But you require a heart that's yours alone!

Christ's name can give his fruit a reason to live

But we're lawlwss if love is not in command

For God tha Father's will in Jesus's word are revealed

And love's miracle is simpler than our plan.

There is reason to fear these words that you hear

So examine yourself in this light

Clear your ears and your eyes you must realize

That we must be sure that our hearts are right!

Will you work for the christ and not under Him?

To serve and glorify him your own way?

Powerful for Him but never weak in Him

He only knows those who will simply obey!
