We raised this lamb up from its birth and kept him pure and clean
For it would be our substitute- He'll be our offering
Some will raise their paschal lambs and some will buy them for a price
For one more year's atonement now we come to make the sacrifice.
Now an offering not of silver nor the finest purest gold
But the precious blood of God's own lamb that was never bought or sold
Is the only gift that will suffice to purge and conquer sin
A spotless, pure and holy lamb gave himself to be bound for men
The sacrifices that God ordained - were never meant to remove sin's stains
They only serve to remind - of what God will do in Messiah's time
A lamb led to the slaughter seemingly, helplessly
The blood of an innocent was shed for me he bled for me
For the price of the lamb that God provides is a treasure no man may own
The price of the lamb that buys our life is the cost of God's own lamb- ALONE.
Now many men still try to bring the gifts they raise from birth
Or buy their moral sacrifice, they overestimate its worth
For all our righteousness is rags to the one who paid sin's price
And lives we try to patch and cleanse cannot be a perfect sacrifice.
The sacrifices that God ordained were never meant to remove sin's stains
They only serve to remind of what God will do in Messiah's time
A lamb led to the slaughter seemingly, helplessly
The blood of an innocent was shed for me he bled for me
For the price of the lamb the Father bought for the cost that sin demands
Now once for all forever has been paid by God's own lamb!
