The temple of God's grace divine- the heart's innermost holy shrine

Shines without peer withiut, within, and so the Builder must begin

To build a true and holy place- a place unseen, of radiant grace

Each stone a prayer carefully laid-Wonderfully and fearfully made!

So keep the temple pure and clean So by God's graceit shall be seen

A fitting place for christ to dwell- A temple with no locks or veil!

He tears down walls of fear and hate and builds instead and open gate

Open to receive God's best- a floodgate of a heart that's blessed!

To erect a holy altar there- the shrine must be swept completely bare

Of self and sin by the very One for whom it's built- by God's own Son!

So keep the temple pure and clean So by God's graceit shall be seen

A fitting place for Christ to dwell- A temple with no locks or veil!
