What did Jesus want? What could Jesus gain?
When he was heir to all things why would He bear such pain?
He didn't need god's blessing for He was God himself
Not cleansing or confessing, nor power, fame or wealth!
What men see as prosperity is a wooden, stubbled yoke
That will never see eternity- it's Satan's cruel joke!
And much the same are my works and desires
that will be burnt away by the refiner;s fire
For Jesus met the needs we all require!
What did Jesus want- what did jesus need?
He only wanted to love us and to see us freed
By the only work sufficient to fulfil God's law
The only work efficient-to save and keep us all.
