There are many beautiful songs to sing

But songs worthy of Jesus are songs set apart.

Songs born of trouble, trembling and tears

A prayer without ceasing- a song from the heart.

Let Zion's song enter into your deepest part

For through it the Spirit imprints and reveals

Soothing songs as a balm on our hearts!

For He who saves us our wound heals

Oh, the Songs of the people of Zion

Can bring rest and relief to your soul

God will keep you in your life's darkest trial

Surrounding you to make you whole.

Now the God who brings us out of bondage

Has the mercy now to bring us in

To a righteous refuge and shelter

Into His favor and fold as His friends!

For if His people who're called by His name

Just humble themselves and then pray

He will forgive all their sin and their shame

And heal their land on that great day!
