I Shall Sing

 

There's a song in my soul- something I don't control

A prayer that never shall cease.

An ongoing praise song- that springs forth just as long

As my heart shall allow its release.

 

For the Spirit dwells inside of me-He is the source of the melody

That fixes my mind on the Lord

And on thoughts clear and pure- On the truth that I'm sure

Will set me free when it's outpoured!

 

I shall sing! I shall sing!

I shall sing of my Saviour and King

I shall sing! I shall sing!

I shall sing of the Joy He brings!

 

I share a song with saints of old-  which the prophets foretold

A song everlasting I sing

The same song David voiced- the song with which Mary rejoiced

A song to our infinite King!

 

There's a song in my soul that's complete, pure and whole

A song even angels can't sing

This is the Holy Spirit's song- He writes the music all day long

And it serves as a sweet offering!
