I Can Do This and Nothing Less

 

 

God gives a tempo to march to, more steady than a heart beat.

 

Its cadence guides me through my doubt and moves my hesitant feet.

 

God gives a faith that conquers fear, a bold and holy trust

 

To oppose the spirit of this age 'til it returns to dust.

 

 

I can do this and nothing less than to claim the power that I possess-

 

To apply the truth that ever lives- to appropriate the life Christ gives.

 

 

God gives a cause and a command to possess the power he brings

 

So I'll take courage and be strong- In Christ I can do all things.
