The Search

Now that I have sought the lord I see that I was sought.

You sought my heart and tried it, you graced my power of thought

You sought and found my spirit tho t'was dead and in the grave

Your searching brought you to this place my very soul to save.

My heart is lifted up when I hear your word

It's this transcendant truth that my heart has sought and heard.

In seeking it is led up to a high and holy place

You take your word and write it on each heart that seeks your face.

And tho I was contemptable, and loathesome to your eye,

In a detestable, repugnant and hateful one such as I

Your vision saw what I could be and so you bled and died

You loved and chose and redeemed me, so I am satisfied.
