We would see Jesus, but there's so many distractions

Taking our attentions away

We would see Jesus, but there's such amazing attractions

We find in the dust of the day.

Has He been dwelling so long with you

The familiar dilutes your desire?

Or have you never really stood in His presence

And by the glory of close contact been set afire?

We would see Jesus, but we have yet to recognize

Who it is He claims to be.

We would see Jesus, but when will we realize

That this person is the truth that sets us free?

With any friend or lover, our relationship won't grow

Unless its a priority their hearts and ways to know.

Now He is ever waithing for me the time to spend

In building our relationship as intimates and friends

In heart and mind and spirit with Him identified.

Til the last abyss of my soul in Him is satisfied...
