My Bethel

I will pitch my tent- an altar that is living I will build.

I will give the Lord my best- just as He has willed.

I will give it to Him as a Holy act,

I will deliberate and give it back

To the one who all righteousness fulfilled

For if I should be greedy and hoard my life away

It will become like the manna in Moses's day

But in blessed communion with my blessed Lord

In private, profound reliance on His Word

It will multiply and yield much fruit- that is His living Way

I will worship while I work, and I'll work while I wait

I will wait while I worship on His plan most wise and great.

I will pitch my tent facing toward the east

Awaiting His return and His wedding feast

And while I long for that day He is not far away.

For He dwells in this tent in His peace

Until the day I shall be released

The day I'm awaiting,

I'm anticipating

The day of the Bethel that never shall cease.
