The Kiss of Death

It seems so sweet, so lovely, it even feels so right.

And yet it’s kiss is deadly to walking in the light

Such a sweet seduction, not such a subtle lure

To clutch us in its lustful grasp- a disease with only two cures

There’s death to sin in Jesus, or in a fiery lake

Two ultimate solutions- a choice you have to make.

The kiss of death’s the wages of every kind of sin

Unless the flesh is crucified and raised to life in Him.

In Christ death has no more victory- In Christ it has no sting.

For He has borne it all for us the kiss of Life to bring.
