Wounded Love

Wounded love is the deepest pain

But my faithful friend will still remain

He wounds my pride, so I can't pretend

He wounds my will when I will not bend.

Wounded love is the deepest pain

And I've wounded Him again and again

For if I loved Him then I'd obey

I'd try to please Him each and every day...

Looking into the face of love

I should look within and not just above

For His love came down into me to dwell

To change my life in ways I still can't tell

So as I look He dawns upon my sight

Darkness flees from that glorious sight

And I'm set free by what is revealed

For by His wounds I'm completely healed.

Wounded love is the deepest pain

But my faithful friend will still remain

Wounded love is the deepest pain

But my faithful friend will still remain
