Sovereign Sacrifice

Touch me with coals of fire that burn with the glow of grace...

Taken from the altar of your high and holy place

Touch not only my mouth but devastate all of me

Refiner’s fire, cleanse and make me Holy.

Take away the guilt all the guilt that I have known

Destroy it with the sacrifice that once for all atones

For it was my sin that laid your lamb to waste

But it was His love that raised Him up through grace.

For He is high and lifted up and seated on the throne

The train of His robe fills a temple now that is not built of stone

He who sits on that royal seat is making all things new

Listen to Him for His words are trustworthy and true.

Sprouting from a stump in a dry and barren land

He sits enthroned with a sceptre and a nailprint in His hand

It was my sin that laid this King to waste

It was His lovbe that raised Him to a high and Holy place.
