Seek First (Behold Now the Kingdom)

If you're seeking to grow or seeking to reach

Seeking your answers or seeking to teach

Seeking influence or some holy grail

You can succeed and yet miserably fail!

We may seek a platform from which to speak

But if it's not the kingdom you first seek

Tho we seek to succeed and we seek to gain

All of our seeking will be in vain.

Behold now the kingdom with eyes that are new

Behold now the kingdom from God's point of view

Then as you seek you will truly find

God's blessing, God's heart and God's mind.

No matter if it seems like you're blessed

Seeking the kingdom and his righteousness

Is different from seeking comfort and ease.

Or seeking pleasure and seeking to please

You may soon find that all your treasure

Is just stolen time and stolen pleasure

That has been gained by your work alone

Taken away from God's righteous throne.

Behold now the kingdom with eyes that are new

Behold now the kingdom from God's point of view

Then as you seek you will truly find

God's blessing, God's heart and God's mind.
