Double Minded man

Sometimes I’m a sheep and sometimes a goat

Sometimes I walk on water and sometimes I can’t float

Sometimes I’m a lamb and sometimes I’m a lion

Sometimes a Philistine- sometimes a man of Zion.

I can’t sort it out at all but you know my innermost part

You take a double minded man and form a single heart

One that beats the cadence of a march that tears down walls

Of simple sure reliance - The man will stand who on you falls

Sometimes I take my rest in you and other times I strive

Sometimes I feel so dead and cold and other times alive

Sometimes the only mark I bear displays my apathy

Sometimes I’m bound up in myself and other times I’m free

Unstable in all my ways you take me from the miry clay

And on the rock you set my feet- You make my broken heart complete

I can’t sort it out at all but you know my innermost part

You take a double minded man and form in me a single heart

One that beats the cadence of a march that tears down walls

Of simple sure reliance - The man will stand who on you falls
