Come to the Wedding

Come now to the wedding you friends of the groom

Forget all your labors while there is yet room

The lovers their bliss can no longer delay

And let every heart beat with rapture today

Attend  to the clarion call

You rescued from the fall

Come revel in pleasures that never shall end

Come all who have called Him their faithful friend.

While envy and pride, ambition and hate

Still beat at and smother the hearts of the great

Such wretched passions must be cast aside

When you sit at the feast of the groom and his bride

If you boast of no treasure

But grace beyond measure

His invitation  is extended to you and to all

Who in reckless abandonment answer his call.

With reason we taste of the heart stirring feast

With pleasure we drink  wine from Heaven’s High Priest

Without fear we sup from the free flowing bowl

No fatal excess here  to enslave the soul

We revel in bliss

And rejoice in this

All who eat at the table will not be denied

So come to the wedding and be satisfied.
