Ears of Faith

When the fog rolls in and you fear you may drown

And the noise of living and dying surrounds

Listen for an unmistakeable voice

Detect subtle changes and choose to rejoice.

Tho often the silence may be deafening

Far more painful is hearing and not really hearing

With ears of faith and eyes of the soul

Learn to perceive that God is in control.

Be still and know that God is God.

How great is that darkness if the eye will not see

The signs and the wonders of humility

How great is that silence if the ear will not hear.

The word written on the heart and made clear.
