Silence Breaks and Stillness Reigns

Silence breaks and stillness reigns

A Cry in the night is clear and plain

But not many will recognize

The voice they hear from paradise.

Fresh from His Father  now in birth

Now in His Heaven, now on Earth

Mystery  revealed in time and space

Clothes God in human flesh and face.

Glory’s depth is realized

When  he willed to lay it aside

So greater glories shall be seen

When knees shall bow before this King.

In a garden all alone

This kings ascent unto His throne

By His obedience is sealed

And by the cup our wounds are healed.

For our salvation  he drank it all

To rescue many from the fall.

The final word the cup now drains

As silence breaks and stillness reigns.

On a tree they hung him there

His Fathers righteous wrath to bear

The great obscenity revealed

The God forsaken God is killed.

He left the Father for a womb

And giving all this for a tomb

The name Yahweh alone shall save

And mystery explodes the grave.

Silence breaks and stillness reigns

It was finished  and now contains

All hope all peace and every  joy

All wrapped up in a little boy
