The Yes and the Amen

 

 

When we walk by sight and not by faith ,

we forsake the future and forget the past

But pure and faithful, living and active,

the more sure word of God shall last

 

God’s grace has now come in person

 to prove the promise was sound

We look to Christ and Christ alone-

 where the Yes and the Amen is found

 

 

Lord, you are the faith promise,

 the downpayment and future’s pledge

Confident in bygone grace,

 you surely take us o’er the edge

 

Into the realm of future grace,

 into the shadow of thy wings

Where we revel in Your faithfulness-

 where for joy we sing

 

 

The former things long past I will consider

Confirmed in Christ I am convinced they’re true

He  will accomplish all His good pleasure

The Yes and the Amen now comes to you.

 

The promise is placed to my account

To every pledge of providence we’re heirs

They are purchased by Christ for His own

And so he is the answer to our prayers
