Between the Rock and a Hard Place

Sweet memories of mourning- a prelude to sweet peace

In affliction’s final hour comes ultimate release.

When crisis commands the hour there’s a full cup of victory

For in weakness there is true power to pour yourself out sacrificially

Between the Rock and the hard place

I’ll turn to the rock for a shelter secure

There’s a cleft cut there just for me by His grace

I go to the Rock for the Rock shall endure.

Hid in the Rock I shall overcome in this trauma, this crisis, This pain

For when in their midst I say "Thy will be done" even then victory can be claimed!

The cleft in the Rock is the one that was rent -it can shelter all those who come in

To enter the place that is more than sufficient to avail for their need and their sin.

Like the rock that was stricken by Moses’s rod and gave life giving water to all

This rock was rent open on the cross by God as a place for those lost in the fall.

Between the Rock and the hard place

I’ll turn to the rock for a shelter secure

There’s a cleft cut there just for me by His grace

I go to the Rock for the Rock shall endure.
