Finished and Fulfilled

I feel the heartbeat I see the eyes

I hear the words and I realize

Beyond this lifetime beyond deaths dark mystery

There is a way, a promise and a point to history.

All bound up in a person and that person is God’s son

He came to earth to finish what creation had begun

For we exposed our nakedness- our insufficiency

Refusing to believe the one who spoke eternity

He cast us from his throne but then He came to make a way

To enter back into the garden is our thrill of hope each day.

It is finished the race is run

It is accomplished the war is won

It is fulfilled what was begun

Is sonce for all foerver done!

For to him who overcomes by his blood’s sufficiency

Is given the right to eat fruit from a new lifegiving tree

Catch the sound of the explosion as the universe is awed

The grapes of wrath were consumed by the perfect Son of God

As the veil was rent asunder so the grave is torn apart

The world is filled with wonder and the desperate take heart

The chasm wider than death was bridged - this void in our hearts

Between us and our God there was not one single common part.

But we’re enemies no longer and now we’ll never be alone

For God’s love has sought and found us and He claims us as his own

It is finished the race is run

It is accomplished the war is won

It is fulfilled what was begun

Is once for all forever done!
