Grant Me Grace

In the vast unravelling of life there lies a different state

A place where most religious men have nothing left to say

For in the broken places -there the walking wounded wait

Wondering where strength will come to live another day.

Like a flat barren desert, the road stretches endlessly

No foreseeable relief in sight for the bone tired weary

Will there be enough strength today to walk those miles

Enough to carry the burdens yet another little while?

Grant me grace that I might stand

Satisfied to fall on you in a dry and weary land

Grant me grace that I might do or die today

For the grace that you will grant me will be the only way

The road we’re on is rough and steep It’s end escapes our view

But there is grace to take each step If I will trust in you.

Supply it Lord just as I need it And I will no longer fret

In every circumstance I have not seen grace fail me yet.

Grant me grace that I might stand

Satisfied to fall on you in a dry and weary land

Grant me grace that I might do or die today

For the grace that you will grant me will be the only way
