The Gallows of Love (Crucified with Chrst)

If I'm to abide beneath the cross then I must take my rest

And step by step He'll bring me to that place where He is blessed.

I place it upon the shoulders of the one who said to take it up

For in its shadow I find He drank every crosses's cup.

If I'm to hide behind the cross I must stretch out my hands

And lifted up with Him I rest on it and there I'll take my stand

I must stand straight upright and fixed to it's rugged beams

And nail to it all my desires and all my hopes and dreams.

For everything of worth that's done is first nailed to the cross.

And crucified with Christ His Glory's exchanged for your loss!

You'll meet him there long long before you meet Him up above

Hang your harp on the willows, join Him on the gallows of love.

Conformed unto his likeness I'll begin to look like Him.

I'll show the way that He would walk- I learn to hate my sin.

As I am conformed I am transformed by His grace and Glory

I bear the weight of a radiance that He has placed upon me.

For everything of worth that's done is first nailed to the cross.

And crucified with Christ His Glory's exchanged for your loss!

You'll meet him there long long before you meet Him up above

Hang your harp on the willows, join Him on the gallows of love.
