The Weight of Glory

How can we ever bear the heaviness

Of the Glory of God's radiant throne?

How can we ever bear the blessedness

Of the Glory that upon our lives has shone?

Oh the Weight of Glory bearing down

Shall crush us if we are not found

Beneath the shelter of His wings

With the cleft of the Rock our covering...

We need your Glory in our hearts

We need your glory in our times

In our church, our home and innermost parts

We need your Glory now to shine!

How can we ever gaze on Holiness

Without being undone in our Woe?

Can we look with hope on something less

Since his great and gracious glory Now we know?

Oh the Weight of Glory bearing down

Shall crush us if we are not found
