On him was laid the sins of the world- The iniquities of us all

On Him was poured our judgment- Pent up since the fall.

He prepared himself in the garden- to face Calvary's uncut stone

Then He himself bore all our sin as an altar of flesh and bone.

The only one who could atone-

Was God with us and God alone!

The righteous judge from Heaven's throne

Became an altar of flesh and bone.

So he poured upon the altar a libation of his blood

He was bound unto its horns with nails and by His love

And then when it was finished he gave his spirit up

In faith and in obedience he fully drank the cup!

We who now are dead to sin now live unto righteousness

For by his stripe we have been healed- if His name we confess

He laid down his life for us and took it up again for his own-

Accomplished our atonement on this altar of flesh and bone!
