When I was a little baby the milk I drank was pure

When I grew into childhood I gained strength to endure.

So I'll let go of my blanket- in God's covering to stand

I'll put away my childish things and learn to be God's man.

And now I am still growing into a man of God

No longer to act like a child- that would be very odd

To babble like a baby- the darkness still to fear

To cry and wail to get my way- to hold my toys dear.

I desire to feast on solid meat

To taste His word and find it sweet

No longer to act like a child

To find my way and God's way reconciled!

I'll let go of my daydreams and hold on to God's plan

I'll put away my childish things and learn to be God's man!

I'll gladly leave the cradle but I'll not release His hand

When I renounce my childish ways and learn to be god's man!
