The Mercy Seat

From every raging stormy wind that promises our sails to rend

There is a calm and sure retreat- it's found beneath the mercy seat.

Where Jesus is, there is a place of gladness joy, love and grace

A place where all our hopes we meet- the all sufficient mercy seat!

There's mercy at the mercy seat there's grace sufficient, full and sweet

Forgiveness for our hearts' deceit-Our Lord reigns from his mercy seat

A place where we can go for aid - when tempted desolate, dismayed

In His presence sn finds defeat- it's judged before the mercy seat

Now on eagle's wings we soar where time and sense all seem no more

Our savior's shining face we'll greet- His glory crowns the mercy seat!
