Wait on the Lord

The maddening pace, the maddening crowd

Life is not a race for the few and the proud

The hurry of life to get to the end

Where one can rest from the strife and the sin..

I will be still and I shall know

To leave that place I will be slow

If I will wait upon the Lord

To know he is God is what I would know!

I’ll not leave this place till like eagles I've soared

I'll fall on my face and I'll wait on the Lord!

I'll step out of the race for I just can't afford

To keep up His pace I must wait on the Lord

In step with the Spirit- in tune with His heart

In keeping with every word He imparts

Hold me, enfold me still so I can know

Draw me to your side and quietly show

The place of your rest-The place that is best

Is not some far and distant place

It's here within yoiur wings of grace

Sheltered I meet you face to face.

I will be still and I shall know

To leave that place I will be slow

If I will wait upon the Lord

To know he is God is what I would know!

I’ll not leave this place till like eagles I've soared

I'll fall on my face and I'll wait on the Lord!

I'll rest in this grace that's in silence outpoured

I'll not state my case I'll just wait on the Lord.
